Confidential Help from EAP Professionals You Can Trust
Confronting recurring personal and professional challenges is not easy for most people. It’s difficult to put nagging worries about children, elder loved ones, loved ones in the military, school safety, health issues and more, on the doorstep before you leave for work.
The UB EAP program is a free, voluntary, information and referral service available to all University at Buffalo employees, family members, and retirees, for any concern that impacts your life on and off the job. The UB EAP does not provide ongoing counseling services, but assists you in managing your concerns. The EAP Coordinators provide a thorough assessment of your concern, and link you with the best possible provider in the community, should you need a referral.
EAP Confidentiality Policy
All contacts (email, telephone, face to face) are strictly confidential. None of the information you share with the EAP Coordinator is shared with anyone else, without your written consent.
Limits to Confidentiality
Where information is required to be disclosed by law, executive order, or agency work rule
Where there is reasonable belief that an employee's conduct places him/her, or another person, in imminent threat of bodily harm
Where there is reasonable belief to suspect that child abuse has been recently, or will be, committted. This includes physical, emotional, and psychological abuse or neglect
Deborah Hard, EAP Director, is available to answer any questions or concerns. Contact her at 645-4460 or dahard@buffalo.edu
